The Advisory Board's 2026 work programme

Following the designation of its members and the start of its second four-year term on 24 March, the Advisory Board has defined its priorities and adopted its 2026 work programme on 22 June 2026. In accordance with the European Climate Law, this work programme was established independently, and when doing so the Advisory Board consulted the EEA Management Board.

In 2026, the Advisory Board's activities will focus on three main areas:

  • EU progress towards its climate targets, policy gaps and opportunities
  • Industrial transition, geopolitical resilience and international cooperation on climate action
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement

The two analytical workstreams above are expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
