On 15 June 2023, at 00:01 CET, the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change will publish a report on how to determine an EU-wide 2040 climate target and a greenhouse gas budget for 2030–2050. 

Just after midnight on Thursday, 15 June, the European Scientific Advisory board on Climate Change will publish its recommendations for the determination of an EU-wide 2040 climate target and a greenhouse gas budget for the period 2030-2050. With the report, the Advisory Board aims to support the objectives of the European Climate Law by providing EU institutions with its own scientific estimate of an EU greenhouse gas emissions budget and a 2040 climate target. 

Public webinar 

Following the publication, the Advisory Board will host a public webinar on 20 June at 14:00. The Advisory Board will present the new report, which will be followed by a session with questions from the participants.
